From 5th September 2023, the ‘Stop Sell’ means that BT Openreach will not accept new order requests for any broadband or PSTN services that use the old copper network. This includes ADSL, FTTC, ISDN and WLR lines.
Instead, services will be based on FTTP or SOGEA, or, if these are not available, on Single Order Temporary Access Product (SOTAP) – the replacement for ADSL if FTTC (and thus SOGEA) or FTTP are not available.
Are You Affected?
If your business relies on any of the following services, you may well be affected by the BT Openreach stop sell:
- Alarm lines, e.g. burglar alarms, lift alarms
- Fax
- Franking machines
- Modems
- Gate entry systems
- CCTV systems
- Point-of-sale payment systems
- Any other analogue lines
